Lund University ranked 46th best place to study life sciences worldwide

Times Higher Education (THE) has released their 2018 global rankings for specific fields of study at the university level, including life sciences. Sitting towards the very top of this list once again is Lund University, whose life science programs were ranked 46th best in the world.

The methods used to create the THE life sciences ranking included data collection across five different indicators, including number of citations, industry income (knowledge transfer), international outlook, research, and teaching. Lund University performed strongly in all five categories, with number of citations and international outlook achieving the highest figures.

The university sits at the center of one of Europe’s most vibrant life science scenes, in the heart of the globally-recognized Medicon Valley. The recent unveiling of the Lund-based MAX IV facility and the future opening of ESS (European Spallation Source) will play a large role in solidifying the region’s reputation as a life science stronghold.
