We have listed some of the major deals from the first six months of 2010.

JANUARY

Evolva Holding signs an agreement with Roche to create compounds with activity on targets in oncology and anti-infectives using Evolva’s technology platform.

Dako Denmark and AstraZeneca enter into a collaboration agreement to develop diagnostic tests for multiple AstraZeneca oncology projects.

Novo Nordisk and the Swedish university consortium Combine announce a research collaboration in the field of autoimmune diseases. The collaboration has been established to develop a better understanding of how the immune system responds in patients with autoimmune diseases.

FEBRUARY

TopoTarget and Spectrum Pharmaceuticals announce an agreement to co-develop and commercialise belinostat, TopoTarget’s lead anticancerdrug, in North America and India. (potential value USD 350 million).

Recipharm and Cobra Biomanufacturing merge in order to offer a more comprehensive range of services to pharma and biotech sectors. The integrated business will operate as Recipharm’s specialist biologics division.

MARCH

Zealand Pharma and PolyTherics announce a research collaboration. Both companies will contribute their respective expertise to defining the characteristics of PEGylated peptides as novel therapeutics.

BioInvent International and Human Genome Sciences announce a collaboration to discover, develop and commercialise therapeutic monoclonal antibodies which specifically target antigens discovered by HGS.

APRIL

Affitech and NTS Plus enter into a research and development collaboration and licensing agreement under which NTS Plus will develop two of Affitech’s novel human antibodies for commercialisation as pharmaceutical products.

MAY

Respiratorius announce a strategic relationship with Toyota Tsusho Corporation (TTC). TTC will represent Respiratorius exclusively in Japan in promoting its products and contract research services in the area of pulmonary disease related drug discovery.

Biomonitor and Unilabs enter into a collaboration on measuring antidrug antibodies to biologicals in order to strengthen their position as market leaders in bioanalytical support for drug development studies.
