COPENHAGEN AIRPORT IS EUROPE'S MOST EFFICIENT

It is the second consecutive year that ATRS chooses Copenhagen Airports A/ S as Europe's most efficient and the airport has received a total of five awards.
 
ATRS is an academic forum of professors specializing in aviation from a number of universities worldwide. The organization identifies the most efficient airports based on various criteria including productivity, competitiveness, tariffs and financial results.

Crucial to be efficient 
"When operating a modern, efficient airport is essential to be efficient in all areas. This is especially true in periods of economic crisis like the one the world is experiencing at the moment. The more efficient we are, the better we are prepared to get through the crisis and take advantage of the growth that comes after a period of economic turn down, "says Henrik Peter Jørgensen, Head of Communications at  Copenhagen Airports A / S.

A prerequisite for new routes
Copenhagen Airport's future opportunities and challenges have recently been under discussion in the light of the report "There is something in the air" made by Copenhagen Economics. The report points at the need for more routes to the airport in order to strengthen the Capital Region and attract more businesses and tourists. This could be achieved through increased cooperation with regional organizations on the marketing of the airport and the establishment of a route development fund.

Moreover, another analysis, "Airlines on Airports" made by "Research for Travel" in 2008, shows that Copenhagen Airports is in top among European airports on a number of parameters that are crucial for airlines when deciding to establish new routes.
