DANISH WORKPLACES AMONG THE BEST IN EUROPE

One in five of the 100 best European workplaces are Danish, according to a new study. The popular companies have achieved significant growth in productivity over the past year.
Confidence in leaders is at the top, the relationship with colleagues as well. All in all, Danish companies are doing extremely well in terms of being good places of work, business.dk writes.

A new study by the polling institute A Great Place to Work (AGPW) shows that among the 100 best workplaces in Europe 20 of them are Danish. These companies were honoured last night at an awards ceremony in Madrid.

The explanation for the Danish workplace’s popularity is because they are rich on social capital, according to Kim Miller, Director, AGPW Denmark.

"Generally, there is a high level of trust, cooperation and involvement of employees, and there is a lot of communication about why management does what it does, creating confidence in the management team," he says.

The best Danish workplaces
The study was conducted among 1,300 European workplaces and led to a top 100 split between workplaces with more or fewer than 500 employees. Among medium-sized companies five of the 10 best are Danish, as are three of the 10 largest companies.

The big winner is Microsoft Denmark, which shares its place with its 14 European sister companies, closely followed by ATP. Among smaller companies are Middelfart Sparekasse, Denmark’s best placed company with a European second place. The hobby article company Creative Company received a special award for inspirational leadership.
