EDUCATION TO BE A NEW DANISH EXPORT ADVENTURE

24,000 Chinese students are to pass Danish exams in China. Niels Brock Business School is ready to offer Chinese students a Danish exam in China, and the contract to a known Chinese university has already been composed.

Thanks to a new law Danish educational institutions can now issue Danish certificates to students outside of Denmark. The new law could very well be the ignition to a new Danish export adventure in the billion dollar league, writes weekly newspaper Monday Morning.

The Danish Business School Niels Brock has entered into a joint educational cooperation with the Chinese university of Chongqing. The contract between the two universities will provide Niels Brock with 24,000 students for its educational programs in China by the year 2016 – which is  double the number of foreign students in Denmark.

The new system export is not only good business it is also an opportunity to brand Denmark as a country of educational possibilities, which could make it easier to attract qualified labour in the years to come. However, the new law does not include the advanced educations classified under the Ministry of Science, which have upset the universities:

“We resent not having the same options as the institutions under the Ministry of Education. We don’t really understand why there are separate rules for them and us", says the chairman of the principal union, Jens Oddershede to Monday Morning.
