DENMARK HAS THE BEST YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS

Last week, when this year’s EUROPE ENTERPRISE Challenge 2009 took place, Denmark took home both first and third place.

For the second year in a row, a Dane won the European Championship for young entrepreneurs. The Danish company Niso I/S, managed by Solveig Eike and Nick van Leeuwen, was the big winner of the day, when they took home the first place. A small piece of plastic, made for protecting high heels against scratches etc. secured the victory and the prestigious title as Europe’s best entrepreneurs. The judges assessed that the product was the most simple, most obvious and most genius solution.

The Danish siblings Julie and Magnus Fogh Ginnerup took home third place with their business MaxMaxine, which is a program designed to help young overweight children to dress cool and fashionable.

Managing director at Young Enterprise, Marianne Oksbjerre, is proud on behalf of the Danish winners.

“It is truly amazing. Just to be able to compete in the European championship is a victory itself, however the impressive Danish results prove that it pays off to educate the students in the arts of innovation and entrepreneurship. It is a remarkable victory for both Niso and MaxMaxine, and it shows promise for the future of Danish business life”, says Mariann Oksbjerre.
