COPENHAGEN ENTERTAINMENT
Copenhagen Entertainment is to come up with a strategy for the local film-, tv- and video game industry for the next ten years.
What companies are part of the entertainment cluster of Greater Copenhagen and how do we map them? What measures are needed for the local film, tv and computer game industry to convert to digital distribution such as video-on-demand – and what business models will ensure monetization of content? What potential arises from the genre ‘Serious Film’ and ‘Serious Game’? These are some of the research areas Copenhagen Entertainment focuses on.
The aim of Copenhagen Entertainment is to promote growth and employment within the film-, tv- and computer game industry in the Danish Region of Greater Copenhagen. Running until 2012, the project proposes a set of strategic recommendations for a ten year period. Focus areas in relation to film, tv and computer games are:
• New financing - and business models
• Optimization of management resources
• Coordination of higher education and research
• Strengthening of the legislative framework
• Network building
Copenhagen Entertainment has its’ anchor in Copenhagen Capacity, the Danish capital Region's official inward investment agency. The project is financed by the Capital Region of Denmark, by The European Regional Development Fund as well as by the project partners being The Danish Producers’ Association, The Danish ICT and Electronics Federation (DI-ITEK), Vækstfonden (Danish state investment fund), CAT Science Park, Copenhagen Business School, Copenhagen Film Festivals, University of Aalborg Copenhagen and Copenhagen Capacity.
