Copenhagen and the Oresund Region is a leading European centre for the production of moving images and on its way to becoming a prominent developer of games.

Copenhagen and the Oresund Region repute a historical tradition as centre for the successful production of moving images. Directors like Lars von Trier, Bille August and Ingmar Bergman have put the region on the cinematic world map over the years.

With the continued growth of the national film industries, the industries of today boast a work force consisting of over 70 highly skilled innovative production companies that can compete with European film hubs like Berlin or London.

At the same time an enclave of computer game developers in Copenhagen is coming together, representing a new and significant entertainment industry. To identify ways of furthering future growth in the local computer game industry and in the film industry, Copenhagen Capacity runs the project Copenhagen Entertainment. Copenhagen Entertainment, which is supported by the European Union’s Regional Development Fund, provides the industries with a development strategy for the next ten years.
