KØGE
In 2006 Køge was named Denmark's most charming centre of commerce.Historically, Køge has always been a commercial hub and with the harbour right in the centre of town fishing was the major business in Køge in the past. Today fishing is a marginal contributor to the local economy, although fresh fish can still be bought at the harbour, which forms the cultural centre of Køge and contributes greatly to the town's appealing atmosphere.

A broad scope
Even today all major roads lead to the harbour and Køge's modern day commercial centre is located very close by. Køge harbour is the biggest port in Zealand and continues to play a major role in local business life. Many of the businesses based around the harbour are dependent on sea transportation.
Køge's close proximity to Copenhagen and major infrastructural facilities such as the motorway, airport and various commercial harbours ensures businesses in Køge easy transportation and large market opportunities.
