Research Grant for Cancer Gene Therapy

Hans Skovgaard Poulsen, MD, DMSci, and his research team from Copenhagen University Hospital have developed an in vivo gene therapy against small cell lung cancer. They have obtained concept of proof in mice for systemic treatment, showing that the treatment is cancer specific and non-toxic. The coming research will tend to optimise treatment features. The Research group has been granted EUR 870,000 from The Danish Cancer Society, The Danish Research Council, Rigshospitalet and The National Cancer Centre, New York, USA for this work.
