Genmab Regains Rights to HuMax-TAC
Genmab A/S has announced that it has regained all rights to the HuMax-TAC antibody from Merck Serono following a portfolio review by Merck Serono. Worldwide rights to HuMax-TAC were previously licensed to Merck Serono in May 2005.
HuMax-TAC is a human antibody that targets the TAC antigen, also known as CD25 or the interleukin-2 receptor alpha subunit, which is over-expressed by activated T-cells. By inhibiting the proliferation of T-cells, HuMax-TAC may have therapeutic potential in the treatment of T-cell mediated diseases, such as autoimmune disorders, inflammatory and hyperproliferative skin disorders, as well as acute transplant rejection.
