BoneSupport Sells Polymer Patent to Mathys Ltd Bettlach
BoneSupport AB has sold one of its families of patents to the Swiss orthopaedics company Mathys Ltd Bettlach. The invention is non-core to their business and raised a revenue of EUR 1.2 million.
BoneSupport is a Scandinavian medtech company that focuses on injectable ceramic bone substitutes. The products are primarily intended for patients with osteoporotic vertebral fractures, which is a rapidly growing market. Beyond this activity, BoneSupport possesses a variety of other innovative patents within orthopaedics. One of these patents families, which has now been sold to Mathys Ltd Bettlach, concern a new type of polymer for artificial joints, a field that lies outside of BoneSupport's core area of activity.
