Øresund Science Region

Øresund Science Region (ØSR) is a transnational initiative between Denmark and Sweden that serves to strengthen one of the most important assets of the Øresund region - the unparalleled presence of highly skilled human resources and cutting-edge technologies resulting from a specialised research community and a growing number of knowledge-based, market-leading companies.

ØSR joins the forces of six regional research and innovation platforms, Øresund University and a number of regional co-ordination bodies in an attempt to strengthen regional co-operation and integration between universities, industry and the public sector.

Six ØSR platforms
The six ØSR platforms are:

• Medicon Valley Academy
• Øresund IT Academy
• Øresund Food Network
• Øresund Environment Academy
• Øresund Logistics
• Øresund Design

The activities of the platforms include establishing partnerships, benchmarking, enhancing research and education, innovation, technology transfer and marketing. Several promising scientific provinces also lie between the target areas of these platforms and one of the focus areas for the Øresund Science Region is interdisciplinary synergy between the platforms.
