Medicon Valley – part of the prospering Øresund Region

Medicon Valley is located in the Øresund Region - a dynamic and highly international region consisting of the most eastern part of Denmark, including Zealand, and the Skåne region in southern Sweden

Where education and businesses prosper
Businesses in the region benefit from excellent business conditions. Corporate taxes are among the lowest in Europe and key foreign personnel are taxed at attractive low rates for up to three years. Finding qualified personnel is easy thanks to a well-educated labour force with extensive foreign language skills.

With its many universities and over 100,000 students the Øresund Region makes up the educational centre of Scandinavia, ensuring a plentiful pool of qualified labour.

World-class research is undertaken in this high-tech region. The quality of scientific output is among the best in Europe, evidenced by a high number of citations per publication.

Life is good in the Øresund Region
Inhabitants in the Øresund Region are among the world's most affluent people, both in monetary terms and in terms of quality of life. Ample public spending keeps the region's childcare facilities, schools and infrastructure in excellent condition, and in keeping with Scandinavian tradition health care and education is free. While Copenhagen and Malmø offer distinct metropolitan environments, forests, lakes and beaches are never far away.

These are just some of the reasons why Medicon Valley and the Øresund Region typically rank at the top in international quality of life comparisons and expatriate surveys.

Travelling is easy
Two international airports, a well developed road and railway system and several harbours ensure easy access to Medicon Valley and the Øresund Region, no matter where you are travelling from. Once in Medicon Valley, you will find that getting around is easy thanks to an extensive public transportation system.
